Glazer Children's Museum

Today we went to the Grand Opening of the Children's Museum. Gavin saw the special on the news on TV last night and was soooo excited to go there. He LOVED it and did not want to leave! There was so much to do! They have boats, a firestation, firetruck, water area with floating toys, balls..etc., a child sized Publix, Outback Cafe (where the kids can pretend cook and serve you), wall climbing, building, animal clinic.....and the list goes on and on. There were so many different ways for him to use his imagination!! It was crowded, but he still managed to push his way through and do the things he wanted!

This boat was the first thing he went to!

Thinking of what to repair...

Serious about his fire safety!
Cooking at the grill!
Checking out the x-rays at the Vet!

Friends!

My BFF right now is Landon and I spend a lot of time with him at Nana's house. But Mommy also tries to have me spend some time with other kids my age as much as possible. Last week I got to hang out at Aunt Lora's house with Noah and today I played with my "girlfriend" Addi. Addi and I have been friends my whole life!! ;) I think she is so pretty!

This is Noah..do we look like we could be brothers? Mommy thinks so!

Sharing my ball pit with Addi!
She showed me the potty and I actually went!

Here's "Dandon!" (Landon)

Summer Fun!!

Mommy, Daddy and I have been trying to have some fun family time together this summer. We went to Busch Gardens a couple of weekends thanks to Nana who bought us season tickets! I LOVE there new Sesame Street Place. It is so soooo much fun! When I was there I tried to watch a 4D Sesame Street show. But as soon as Big Bird sprayed his hose and real water hit us, I got scared and we had to leave. Now, everyday, I talk about being brave and going back to see the show again. I am always fascinated by things that scare me! Mommy promised me that she would take me back to see it again real soon. I told her "I won't cry next time. I not scared!"

I also spent a lot of time in the children's splash area! I love to get wet on these hot summer days and splash around in the water!

This is my favorite flume ride. I was so glad I was tall enough to ride!

More 2 yr old conversations..

It is so fun talking to a two year old! Tonight's conversation went like this (keep in mind it's only August)...
Mommy: Gavin, it's time to get ready for bed!
Gavin: No Mommy, lets sit on the couch and talk.
Mommy: Okay, what do you want to talk about?
Gavin: Santa Claus
Mommy: Okay, what about Santa Claus?
Gavin: I'm going to sit on his lap. I'm gonna kiss him and hug him. I ask for all the presents!
Mommy: Okay, but you will have to wait a while...he's still in the north pole.
Gavin: I gonna go drive my car and find him. Come on!
Mommy: Not right now...it's time for bed!
Gavin: NO! Lets talk about Santa Claus.
Mommy: He is probably sleeping and you should be too. He knows when you've been naughty so you better be good and go to bed.
Gavin: Oookay, I not naughty Mommy! (then he walks towards his room with a little fake cry)

He has been talking about Santa Claus all day. I don't get it...it's only August, lol! Guess it will be a fun Holiday this year!

SO musical!

I know it has been forever since I have posted on here, but now that Daddy is trying to build a new business, time is just getting away. I spend a lot of time alone at home with Gavin (he keeps me busy!) and we haven't had as much family time lately...however we do still get some family time on weekends.
Anyway, Gavin has been really into music lately. He plays guitar, piano, keyboard, sings all day long and now he is even trying to play my french horn. His favorite song to sing is still probably "Happy Birthday", followed by "Sing a Song." Thanks to his Aunt Tiffy, he knows all the words to more children songs than me! Or maybe he is making up songs? He sang a couple songs today that I didn't recognize at all but he told me "Aunt Tiffy sings dat!" He's so cute!

Time flies...

We have just been so busy around here lately, with Daddy getting a new job, that we haven't had much time to create blog posts. Gavin is becoming more and more fun everyday and it is exciting to view the world through his eyes. He is saying so much now and starting to test his boundaries as most two year olds do. But, he is a really good toddler and he LOVES to entertain Daddy and I and make us laugh. He has been playing the piano a lot and singing his favorite songs (like the Theme Song from "The Little Einsteins"). I also give him a few lessons now and then and he is starting to learn where middle C is and what a treble clef is!

Dino World!

OH MY GAWD!!!!
Daddy and I went to Dinosaur World with our playgroup. I had soooo much fun looking at all the GIGANTIC dinosaurs and digging for fossils. I can't wait to go back! Here are some snapshots of my adventure filled day...

Whoa...nice teeth...

Better run away!

Conversations w/ a two year old...

Mommy: Gavin, what are you doing?
Gavin: I'm getting da Cow, Mama!
Mommy: What cow?
Gavin (pointing): Right Dere! Da Farm...
Mommy: Okay?
Gavin (pretending to hand me something): Here...
Mommy: Thanks...is he a nice cow?
Gavin: Yup... I gonna ride da cow. (Sits on the floor and pretends he is riding)

This type of conversation went on and on for about an hour tonight.
This is what I come home from work to. He is so cute... and his little mind is always all over the place!!

Imaginary Play!

Gavin is getting really good at using his imagination. He was telling me a whole story a few nights ago (half of which I could not understand) about a Purple Tiger who was hanging from a light on the ceiling and fell down but did not get hurt. Then, he said, the Tiger bit his arm and went away behind the door. Not sure where he got all that from, but it was cute! The Purple Tiger kept coming back and visiting us that night and Gavin said most of the time he was a "Nice Tiger!" I wonder what he will come up with next...

Eggstravaganza at All Childen's

My Mommy's work had an Easter event and I went with her and my Aunt Tiffy. I got to meet the Easter Bunny for the first time (I gave him a high five, but wouldn't sit on his lap) and hunt for eggs. It was my first egg hunt this year and I really enjoyed it. Aunt Tiff helped me find a lot of eggs! I also played in a small bounce house and made a bunny craft. Then I baked some cookies when I got home. What a fun day it was!

Happy Birthday to Aunt Lora!

This is the only time I caught Gavin singing Happy Birthday on video. Every other time I tried he refused to sing, but he sang Happy Birthday to Lora all week! It's currently his favorite song!

Paci ALLLL GONE!!

I am such a big boy now that I decided to not take my "paci" anymore. One day, at Nana and Papa's house, I took a nap without my paci and I haven't needed it since. I have been without "paci" for about four days now. I replaced it with my new stuffed puppy named "Bummer!" I came up with his name all by myself. I heard Daddy saying the word "Bummer" that day and I thought it would be a good name for my puppy. Don't ya like it? I read books to my puppy every day and I tell him how cute he is all the time. I also named my smaller stuffed puppy, that "Aunt Awra" gave me, Brownie. I like to play pretend Doctor/Vet with him and I give him shots and cut his nails.

My "Silly Smile!"

Mommy has been encouraging me to use my imagination and I have sure been good at it! I cook, clean, play doctor, read, tell stories, draw pictures of birthday cakes and sing "Happy Birthday" to myself, and sometimes I pretend I am riding in my firetruck or ambulance. It is so much fun being 2! Just ask me what I did today and you never know what kind of story I will tell...one of my favorite stories to tell involves Nana, her dog little Louie and some money... ;)

Happy Valentine's Day!!

This is kind of a silly Holiday, but we still made some crafts and cupcakes in honor of Valentine's Day. Gavin had to share his love with everyone!! He and Daddy even bought flowers (delivered to work) and made a cute card for me.
Some cards Gavin made for Family...

Showing off his hard work...

Busch Gardens

Today we went to Busch Gardens and it was COOLLLD and windy outside. The entire car ride on the way to the park Gavin couldn't stop saying "I want to ride rides!" over and over. Of course, we rode the train all the way around the park (which he LOVED!). He also rode the kiddie train, airplanes, carousel and some other rides. We are so glad we have season passes because we couldn't spend too long outside in that cold wind (Thank you Nana and Papa for the passes). Looking forward to many more trips to Busch Gardens and soon they will have Sesame Street...which, of course, is very exciting for a two year old!

On the train...

He loved these airplanes, but doesn't understand how to make them move up and down yet...
