Happy Halloween!

I got to spend most of the day with Mommy and Daddy for Halloween. I was dressed up as a lion (which really suits me) and we strolled around the mall. I wasn't too impressed with my costume at first, but I slowly got used to it. Mommy washed the lion costume and it's "fur" kind of melted and turned into an afro. But it's okay because people could still tell I was a lion. We heard people all over the mall commenting on what a cute Lion I was!

Before the costume was washed...

After the costume was washed...

I am practicing crawling like a lion!

Attacking Mommy!

What did they put on me?
This is an example of Daddy's "quality" picture taking skills...

Getting Bigger!

I am getting to be such a big boy lately. Here is my version of "what does a fish say?" I didn't want to show Mommy how well I could really do it though. I was a little distracted! Sometimes I can't even remember how to respond so she is really lucky that she got anything on camera...

I am also learning how to "shake my booty" as Mommy would say. Look closely and you will see that I did it just a little in the beginning of this video and then I decided to "attack" my Mom. I am a boy after all.

This picture is just to show how cute I was when I fell asleep on the way home from Grandma's. It was chilly out, especially for Florida weather. I think it got down to about 40 degrees that morning.

This week's news!

Last night I was singing one of Gavin's favorite songs "The Wheels on the bus go round and round" and he actually started moving his body to the beat of the song. It was sooo cute! Our little baby is starting to dance. He also stands up holding on to the side of the play pen and will "shake his booty" to the music playing on his toy aquarium. Sometimes I have to prompt him by shaking my own booty and then he will shake his to imitate Mommy. It is too funny!

His personality is becoming more evident every day. If Mommy or Daddy take a toy away from him or tell him "no" now he has started to protest by throwing little mini- tantrums. It just makes us giggle right now, but it might not be as funny when he becomes a toddler and starts to throw real tantrums. He is definitely a "passionate baby" (hence the name of this blog) with a strong personality at times. I can not figure out where he got that from...maybe Daddy? Although both of us are pretty laid back and low key as adults. I guess it's just the fiery personality that comes along with being a redhead.

We also discovered another unique thing about Gavin this week. We noticed, as his bottom teeth are coming in, that one of them has a notch in the middle and looks "funny." So after doing a little research, I have come to the conclusion that he has a "double tooth" or geminated tooth. Meaning his bottom baby tooth is growing in as a combo of two baby teeth with one root. So it is a little bigger than a normal tooth and it looks different. I am not 100% sure this is what he has because his tooth is not all the way in, but it really appears to be. Poor baby got some unusual mouth anomalies with his tongue tie, short upper lip frenulum (which will cause a space in his upper front teeth) and now a double tooth. Hopefully the abnormality won't be in his permanent tooth. We will probably have to take him to a dentist a little sooner than you normally would with a baby. Braces may be in our future!

9 months

So, I have now been outside of my Mommy's belly as long as I was in it! I am nine months old today. At my nine month well-check the Dr. said I am doing great and seem to be right on track with everything. Here are my stats from the appt:

Height: 28.5 inches Height Percentile: 58%
Weight: 18bs 6.72 oz. Weight Percentile: 17%
Head Circumference: 17.25 inches Head Percentile: 12%

As you can clearly see... I am still tall, skinny and have a small head! But, don't worry, it's not the size of your brain that matters, it is how you use it. ;) That's what the doctor told me anyway. I also got two more shots. Can you believe that? We babies get so many shots now! These two were my flu and Hep. B vaccine. I have to go back in another month for another Hepatitis shot. No fun! I am going to become scared of that place as I get bigger.

Oh, I almost forgot, when I was in the waiting room I saw a beautiful baby girl who might have been a little bit older than me. I talked to her and flirted with her a lot because I just couldn't resist. She was eating cheerios and saying baby"words" I could understand. Mommy and Daddy think I'm going to be a ladies man!

Umm, this paper tastes GROSS!!
I am practicing for when I am potty trained so I can read while performing my duties like
Daddy does!

"Pup"

I can now say one more word in addition to Dada, Mama and Baba. I can say "pup" or "puh" which means "up." My Aunt Lora started teaching me how to say that on Monday and I have learned quick. I also waved bye bye to Daddy when he left for work this morning (for the second time) and I can clap. I am becoming such a big boy! Tomorrow I will officially be nine months old. Mommy and Daddy can hardly believe it!

Little Red Wagon

Umm, how do I get into this thing?
Whoa! I better hold on tight!
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Pusztai for my little red wagon. I have started riding in it while sitting up and holding on to the sides like a big boy. Daddy was so proud of me when he took me for my first ride. It was a lot of fun and I hope Daddy and Mommy remember to take me on wagon rides more often now!

Prayers Please

Please pray for my Great Grandpa "Poppo" and my friend Addison who are both in the hospital. Last Mommy heard, Addison was doing better and possibly going to be released. "Poppo" was admitted to the hospital last night because he was struggling to breath, had a fever and had possibly fallen. He has been battling Leukemia and it has been rough so please give him all your best thoughts. We hope you both feel better soon!

Psst....guess what?

Someone is getting teeth!! FINALLY! As we were getting Gavin ready for bed tonight, we felt his gums and sure enough there were sharp teeth poking through on the bottom. We were sooo excited because this probably also explains his night time awakenings lately. He wouldn't let us actually look at them but we could definitely feel them. Yay!!!

He's all over!

He looks so excited to be standing at his toy bin!
Gavin is on the move now. I can not believe how much he has changed this month. He went from rocking on all fours to crawling slowly on carpet only. Then he started crawling everywhere faster, pulling up and now he is even starting to cruise furniture. Time for us to really start babyproofing! Can we just freeze time right now? We don't want our little baby to grow up so fast. He has almost outgrown his 9 month clothing. So, that means he's going to wear 12 month clothing. That is sooo sad! Really, where did my newborn go? It went SO SO SOOO fast! I hardly remember my colicky newborn ( although that is partly because I had a really rough recovery).

If you look closely at his arm and leg you can see where he got attacked by some sort of bug.=(

Another photo session...

Are we nuts? More pro pics? hehe! Well, Sears called us about a special they were having so we decided we would do Gavin's nine month pictures with them. He was pretty tired, but they turned out great!

I'm a huge Bucs fan like Daddy!!

Back to the torture chamber

Yeah, my Mommy has been putting me in a torture chamber a.k.a the crib! I HATE that thing now. Why does she insist on putting me there? I scream as loud as I can when we go near my crib. I think she should let me sleep every single night in her arms all night. I don't see anything wrong with that, but apparently Mommy thinks she needs sleep also. I don't really get it! I have invented a new period for babies and it is called "the eight month wakeful period." Have you ever heard of the four month wakeful period? Well, I decided to wait another four months and try to trick Mommy and Daddy!

BUT, when I am not in my crib then I am as happy as can be. See...
