Sooo sick...
Poor little baby has finally caught Mommy's horrible virus. He had a fever all day yesterday and wouldn't take his bottle or eat much. It was a rough night last night since he couldn't sleep with his stuffy nose. We're hoping for a better night tonight. Daddy is sick now also. My two little men need to get better! Daddy took these two gross snotty pictures!

10 months!!
Wow! In just two months Gavin will be one year old. I can not believe it! The 10 month pictures were a little harder because he has learned how to escape his Bumbo seat and he will not sit still for very long!

We also got to have his little friend Addison over today. She was not feeling well and kind of grumpy (or maybe she just needed to get used to Gavin and I). I learned that when one baby cries, they both cry! I needed more hands today. It's really too bad I was not born with four arms. ;) But seriously, it wasn't easy but we all survived. They will be hanging out more often once Mommy gets her new work schedule so hopefully they will get used to each other and develop some kind of routine. They also practiced "sharing" and Gavin tried to give Addy a kiss, but she wasn't having any of that!

His "sort of" words...
Gavin isn't really saying words yet, but every once in a while he will mimic something we say. Although it is pretty random and he has no idea what we are saying so they don't count as true words. Sometimes we can get him to say what sounds like banana, poop, up ( he says pup or bup), ball, bye bye, mama and dada. We wonder what his first real word will be. Grandma Parker thinks he will just come out and say "Jewel, shut up!" since he hears that so much at their house (Jewel is their dog). I ,of course, think it will be "mama." Someday he will look at me and realize I am Mama! ;) Right now anyone and everything is "Mama" when he is fussy and "Dada" when he is happy. You have to admit though....a babbling baby is the cutest sound ever!

More teeth...
I am getting my top front teeth now. The top right tooth is poking through! I have been such a good boy despite the fact that I am teething. No one would have known except that I don't want my bottle as much. Mommy thinks I am already trying to wean myself! We're not sure if any of my top teeth are "double teeth" like my one bottom tooth. That is yet to be determined.
Here are some random pictures from this week...

Our new President
This evening at around 11:00pm Barack Obama was declared the 44th President of the United States. Yay for the U.S!! Let's hope for a change...
Election Day 2008
On this important day in history, Gavin is spending the night at his Grandma's house due to our work schedule and the fact that Mommy is very sick with a bad cold. He won't remember this day in his first year of life and obviously will not understand why it means so much to our country. But I am posting this in his first year "blog" so he can read about it when he is older.
We are not a very political family and I have never had much interest in politics. That being said, I think today's presidential election is a VERY important one for the future of our country and most importantly, the future of our child. So, we will be voting today. I have not been overly impressed by either presidential candidate. I think both John McCain and Barack Obama have the potential to be good leaders of our country. But, both Daddy and I agree with the views and stances ( such as pro-choice) of Barack Obama more than that of McCain. Our struggling economy needs a change and we think Obama has more effective ideas on how to improve the economy and healthcare system (yes, even if it means taking from the rich and giving to the poor). So our vote goes to Obama! If he wins, he will be the first African American United States president. Whatever the outcome of this election, there will be change. So, here's to a better economy and a better future for our children....

Halloween Part 2
It was a beautiful park that had trails and even a mini beach at the springs which ran off of the Alafia River. We had no idea we lived so close to a nice park like that. It just proves we need more time off together to have "family days" and discover what is around us together. Mommy always working on weekends doesn't leave very much family time at all. Hopefully someday that will change!
